Mrs. Frances Thigpen Stone, age 78, of Davisboro, died on Friday, August 2, 2019, in an Augusta hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Stone will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 5 at New Hope United Methodist Church near Davisboro with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Ron Dixon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steven Thigpen, Mike Martin, Jonathan Upton, Michael Thigpen, Austin Cowart, Wayne Norris, Eric Smith and Steffen Smith.
Mrs. Stone was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Thomas Lewis Thigpen and the late Velma Andrews Thigpen. She was the wife of the late Wilson Stone and was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Thigpen and a nephew, Mike Thigpen. Mrs. Stone was a retired office manager for the Sandersville Office of the Georgia Natural Gas Corporation with over twenty-five years of service. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors are her daughter, Karen Duncan and her husband Jerry of Davisboro; grandson, Jared Duncan and his wife Laura of Nashville TN; granddaughter, Kelli Duncan Webb and her husband Zack of Sandersville; great grandchildren, Owen Webb and Cole Webb; sister in law, Shirley Thigpen of Bartow; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at New Hope Methodist Church from 10:00 A.M. Monday until the hour of service.
