
Mr. Robert Earl Haywood, age 84, of Tennille died on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Heritage Inn following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 28 at First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Gary Mimbs and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Lindsey, Keith Soles, Rusty Soles, Lanny Soles, Van Haywood, Mike Logue, Doyle Knight, Dan Glover, Booker T. Hunter, Russell Meeks, Gene Sheppard, Lester Godfrey, Steve Johnson, Ed Long, Howard Darsey, and David Hooks.
Mr. Haywood was a native of Laurens County, Georgia, the son of the late Wesley Haywood and the late Agnes Foskey Haywood. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cyndi Haywood Garner. Mr. Haywood was a retired carpenter shop foreman for Thiele Kaolin Company with over 34 years of service. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are his wife, Shirley Smith Haywood of Tennille; a daughter, Denise Haywood Parker and her husband Carlton of Tennille; a son, Ricky Earl Haywood and his wife Dale of Sandersville; three grandchildren, Lindsay Haywood Huggins and her husband Craig, Lauren Haywood Helton and her husband Lance, and Zac Parker; four great grandchildren, Tanner Huggins, Eliza Huggins, Camryn Helton and Knox Helton; a sister, Juanita Haywood Soles of Dublin; and a son in law, John Garner of Tennille.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday.
