Mr. Joseph Leonard Hooks, age 63, of Tennille, died on Thursday, January 30, 2020 following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2 at First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville.  Reverend Gary Mimbs, Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Joe Crosby will officiate. Burial will be private for family only.  Pallbearers will be Chuck Adams, John Adams, Charles Adams, Jordan Hooks, David Hooks, Benjamin Poff, Brian Osburn and Michael Perry.

Mr. Hooks was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Milton Hooks and the late Lizzie Pearl Knight Hooks.  Mr. Hooks had been employed in the shop with Imerys and was a retired technical service representative for Kemia Chemicals.  Mr. Hooks was a member of First church of the Nazarene in Sandersville.

Survivors are his wife, Pam May Hooks of Tennille; son, Jason Hooks of Tennille; daughters, Amanda Rene Poff and her husband Benjamin of Nashville TN and Sarah Lynn Hooks Osburn and her husband Brian of Dublin; grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Poff, Chloe Joy Poff, Owen Christopher Osburn and Ford Joseph Osburn; sister, Glenda Hammett Starkey of Sandersville; and brothers, Timothy Burgamy of Milledgeville and Jimmy W. Hooks of Sandersville.

The family will greet friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
