Mr. Forrest Armstrong Thacker, age 75, of Covington, died Monday, February 3, 2020 at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 11:00 a.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Pastor Weston Williford will officiate.
Mr. Thacker was born in Washington County, the son of the late James Anthony Thacker. He resided in Newton County for many years where he spent his working career as mechanic and heavy equipment operator mostly operating cranes through the Local 926 Union. Mr. Thacker was a longtime gun enthusiast and professionally traded and collected guns. His latest joys in life where his two Labrador companions and watching westerns and cooking shows on TV. He is predeceased by his wife, Nadine Howington Thacker.
Survivors include his son, Ashley Thacker and his wife Clara of Covington; mother, Dorothy Giles Moon of Conyers; grandchildren, Bobby Thacker and his wife Shweta of Atlanta and Caren Thacker of Covington; great grandchildren, Matthew Thacker, Michael Thacker, Marnie Thacker and Emma Thacker; and brothers, Ronald Ray and his wife Debra and Richard Thacker and his wife Laurie all of Covington.
