Mr. Stevie Clay Martin Sr., age 53, of Tennille, died Sunday, February 09, 2020 at his residence.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 2:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Pastor Weston Williford will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Heath Phillips, Stacy Johnson, Isaac Wood Jr., Christian Wood, Kenny Annabel, Lee Marshall, Fred Rymer, Brandon Yates and Tom Corbin.

Mr. Martin was born in Augusta and reared in Washington County.  He worked as a professional truck driver for Howard Sheppard Inc.  Stevie also was a great automotive mechanic and formerly worked in construction as a painter for Parker Construction.  He was an avid race car fan of Jimmy Johnson and loved watching NASCAR.  In his spare time, Stevie enjoyed watching and feeding birds and he was known as the “Soap Opera King” because of love of watching the “Young and Restless”.   He his predeceased by his mother, Vivian Jenkins Martin and brothers, Tony Martin and David Toussaint.

Survivors are his wife, Robin Diane Rymer Martin of Tennille; children, Stevie C. Martin Jr. and his wife Shanice of Sandersville, Ellis E. Martin Sr. and his wife Darlene of Wrightsville, and Heather Marie Martin O’quinn of Sandersville; grandchildren, Stevie C. Martin III, Terrance James Martin, Ellis E. Martin Jr., Gabriel Bussell, Ethan Lucas Martin, Brianna Nicole Martin, Mary Marie O’quinn, and Judy Faye O’Quinn; his father, Ellis Martin of Sparta; and siblings, Sherry M. Skinner and her husband Dale of California, Isaac J. Wood Sr. and his wife Kimberly of Gibson, Tammy Murray of Minnesota, and Buffie Covino of Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
