Mr. Richard Glenn “Ricky” Beal, age 64, of Sandersville died on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 8, at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville, with burial in Brownwood Cemetery, also in Sandersville. Reverend Andy Yates will officiate. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Beal was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Elma Burson Beal and the late Jeanette Osborne Beal. He was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie B. Lewis and a brother, Al Beal. Mr. Beal was a graduate of Washington County High School. He was an blunger operator for Imery’s Kaolin Company. Mr. Beal was a member of the Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department for over 43 years and also served as a volunteer at the Washington County Senior Center for over 11 years.

Survivors are his wife, Lynne Hodges Beal of Sandersville; two sons, Patrick Glenn Beal and his wife Sharon of Tennille and Thomas Ashley Beal and his wife Brandi of Bonaire; four grandchildren, Ryan Beal, Austin Beal, Carsyn Beal and Emmie Beal; two sisters, Robin Hodges Black and her husband Steve of Davisboro and Joanna Powell of Davisboro; a brother, Lee Hodges and his wife Toni of Sandersville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Steve and Robin Black, 108 McNeely Street in Davisboro. They will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
