Mrs. Delia Waters Denton, age 88, of Tennille died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services for family only will be held in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.  Pastor Wallace Smith will officiate. Public viewing will be allowed on Thursday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville in numbers of 10 or less at the time.

Mrs. Denton was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Charlie Waters and the late Maude Caraway Waters.  She was the wife of the late Billy Denton.  She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Abbigail Marie Jackson and her siblings, M. C. Waters, I. J. Waters and Mary Waters Lanthrip. Mrs. Denton was a retired employee of the Washington Manufacturing Company and a homemaker.

Survivors are her children, David Denton and his wife Elaine of Tennille, Harold Denton of Tennille and Russell Denton and his wife Elizabeth of Tennille, Sister, Reba Waters Brown of Tennille; nine grandchildren, Amanda Denton Collins and her husband Lavell, Charlie Denton and his wife Janna, Holly Denton Jackson, Tiffany Denton Sutherland and her husband Michael, Stacey Denton, David Denton, Jr., Lindsay Turner Hinson, Kasey Lewis Collins and her husband Blake and Samuel warren and his wife Shena;  fourteen great grandchildren, Payton Warren, A. J. Warren, Jackie Samuel, Lacey Collins, Willie Collins, Nathaniel Hinson, L.T. Hinson, Hunter Hinson, Rayne Collins, Hayden Denton, Xander Denton, Emberlynn Denton, Alex Jackson and Colby Jackson.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
