Ms. Kathryn Cooke, age 64, of Canton, formerly of Sandersville, died Saturday, June 13, 2020 at her residence. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, June 17, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville, followed by a private burial. Reverend Dr. Stan Littleton will officiate.
Ms. Cooke was born in Sandersville to the late Corbett Cooke and Julie Ann Roughton Cooke. She held an associate degree in Early Childhood Development. Her love for educating children was evident in her employment with Headstart, as well as her role as a foster parent, and even running a daycare facility out of her home.
Ms. Cooke is survived by: two daughters, Tanya R. Ward and her husband Evan of Canton, and Jennifer Scott Taylor and her Husband Thomas of Milledgeville; three sons, Thomas Scott, Jr. of Greensboro, Justin Sanner of Columbus and Charlie Williford of Sandersville; two sisters, Bobbie Cooke Weaver of Powder Springs and Luanne Cooke Brooker and her husband John of Sandersville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and an aunt, Jean Roughton of Sandersville.
