Wynell York Brantley, age 70, of Tennille died on Wednesday morning July 22 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday July 24 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Johnson County. Rev. Hugh Baxter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Josh Williams, Dillon Cowart, Clayton Jones and Josh Bryant.
Mrs. Brantley was a native of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Clarence York and the late Mary Davis York. She was the widow of the late Clark Ivey Brantley. Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her two sons, Robbie Chance and Michael Scott Chance and her siblings, Clarence Edward York, Danny York and Maritha York.
She was a retired seamstress.
Survivors are her fiance , Billy Joe Gay of Wrightsville, step children, Keith Brantley, Amanda Brantley, Lee Gay all of Wrightsville and Cynthia Youngblood of Rome, a brother, Toby York and his wife Marian of Wrightsville and a sister, Mary Alice Cowart of Sparta, a nephew and devoted caregiver, Allen Cowart of Sparta.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. Friday until the hour of service.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
