A joint operation resulted in the seizure in an estimated $33,000 in marijuana plants on Thursday, August 20.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, the plants were seized by sheriff’s deputies from the 3000 block of Sunhill Road. This was a joint operation with the Georgia Governor’s Task Force and aided by the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force.

“These law enforcement partnerships make our mission possible,” said Sheriff Cochran. He added, “I am thankful for the cooperation the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has received during my time as Sheriff.”

Sheriff Cochran went on to say that these partnerships, working together as a team, will continue to work every day for the citizens of Washington County.

“Together we will make a difference – one day at a time,” said Sheriff Cochran.

One arrest was made in this case.
