Sandersville Public Works Director Robert Eubanks provided an update regarding road repairs on West Haynes Street in Sandersville during the Monday, November 2 Sandersville City Council meeting.

According to Public Works Director Eubanks the contractor for the West Haynes Street repairs, PopCo, Incorporated of Sylvester, Georgia, was needed on another critical project in the City; therefore, the road repair was paused.

Public Works Director Eubanks stated that the sewer line on Carver Street broke, requiring emergency repairs.

“We’re waiting on the contractor to finish up on what they’re working on now,” said Public Works Director Eubanks, explaining that once the repairs are completed on Carver Street, the contractor will return to West Haynes Street.

Public Works Director Eubanks explained that this sewer line crosses behind Carver Street, feeding the Beck Blvd. pump station, and carries sewer from four other pump stations.

“We were lucky to have the contractor already in town,” said Eubanks.

Sandersville Mayor Jimmy Andrews stated that he’s had several people ask him about the status of West Haynes Street.

During the Monday, November 2 meeting, City Council approved an invoice from PopCo, Inc. for the emergency repairs on Carver Street; the invoice totaled $69,195.
