Mrs. Thelma Folsom Morris, formerly of Forest Park, died Friday, December 4, 2020 following an extended illness. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 2:00 P.M. at Pine Hill Methodist Church Cemetery located north of Warthen. Reverend Karen Fisher will officiate. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Mrs. Morris was born in Hahira, Lowndes County, the daughter of the late J.D. Folsom and the late Thelma Elizabeth Hall Folsom. In her youth, she moved to Atlanta where she graduated from Bass High School. She married her high school sweetheart, William Ray Morris and together they settled in Forest Park where she became a home maker and reared her family of five children. Mrs. Morris was an active member of Forest Park United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She participated in the church United Methodist Women and formerly sang in the church choir as well as served her church in numerous leadership roles over the years. Mrs. Morris devoted her life to family and her church. She is predeceased by her husband, William Ray Morris, daughter, Denise M. Spangenberger and sister, Mary Ellen Stalvey.

Survivors include her children, William Sidney Morris of Lake Oconee, Teresa M. Donaldson and her husband Randy of Madison, MS., James Dewitt Morris and his wife Terri of Covington and Daniel Ray Morris of Warthen; son-in-law, Ray Spangenberger; grandchildren, Pamela “P.J.” Barron and her husband Travis of Warthen, Caleb Spangenberger and his wife Kristine of Idaho, Matthew Donaldson and his wife Mercy of Madison MS., Rachel Hamann and her husband Shane of Clinton, MS., Amanda M. Davis and husband Chad of Warthen and Jacob Morris and his wife Kelsey of Macon; and 13 great grandchildren.
