Mr. Nick Sellars, age 63, of Deepstep, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Sellars’ life will be held on Monday, December 21, at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Dewayne French will officiate.
Mr. Sellars was born in Sandersville, the son of the late Thomas L. “T.L.” Sellars and the late Rosalie “Shine” Sellars. Nick was employed for 34 years as a machine operator at Marcal Paper Mills in Augusta, where he considered his coworkers as part of his extended family. Nick loved spending time with his family, especially Evie G and his “grand pups” Paisley and Gracie. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Nick loved his Georgia Bulldogs and vacationing in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Kissimmee, Florida with his family. He is preceded in death by his son, Nick Sellars, Jr.; sisters, Jackie Sellars, Shirley Sellars, and Wanda Sellars; and brothers, Otis Leon “Bubba” Sellars and Lynn Sellars.
Mr. Sellars is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Sellars; two daughters, Nickie S. Brantley (Greg) of Sandersville, and Kelly S. Hood (Ryan) of Deepstep; three grandchildren, Bryce Hood, Evie Grace Hood, and Briar “BB” Brantley; two brothers, Jack Sellars (Dale) of Warrenville, South Carolina, and Don “Duck” Sellars of Deepstep; a sister, Faye Sellars of Duluth, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, December 21 from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
