Mrs. Helen Sheppard, age 92, of Harrison died on the morning of Thursday, February 11, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 13 in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Stephen Robinson will officiate. The family request the practicing of social distancing and the wearing of face masks.

Mrs. Sheppard was a native and life-long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Noah Page and the late Velma Wyatt Page. She was the wife of the late Elvis G. Sheppard and was also preceded in death by her brother Douglas Page and her furry friend Simon. Mrs. Sheppard was a retired ward secretary for the Washington County Regional Medical Center. She was a former director of the Sheppard Community Blood Drive in Washington County and served as a hospital volunteer. She was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sandra Anderson and her husband Robert, Suzanne Joiner and her husband Martin, and Sheila Claxton and her husband Eddie all of Harrison; four grandchildren, Beverly Smith, Donna Johnston, Kevin Joiner and April Dechert; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother Edward Page and his wife Miriam of Athens; special friends, Johnny and Glenda O’Quinn; and her fur babies, Harley and Kat the Cat.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Sheppard’s caregivers, Tiffany Colston, Lynn McDonald, Brittany Wilson, Shannon Blizzard, Roger Holley, and Cathalene Ricks.
