The City of Tennille, the Tennille Downtown Development Authority, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with Life Beyond Water Global Outreach and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide a drive-thru food giveaway for the community on Saturday, March 13.
According to Tennille Mayor Eartha Cummings, they anticipate an estimated 1,300 boxes filled with essential food items to distribute beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. The giveaway will conclude at noon.
Food distribution is done on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
Tennille Mayor Cummings explained that partnering with these various agencies is beneficial for the entire community.
“We always want to establish working partnerships with various agencies to be able to serve our community,” said Mayor Cummings.
The food giveaway will take place at New Birth Christian Ministries located at 409 Zeta Street in Tennille.
To ensure the health and safety of the volunteers and the community, everyone attending must adhere to the COVID-19 CDC guidelines. When collecting a box of food, please remain in your vehicle, and have the trunk open for the volunteers to load the box.
