The District 2, Post 2 City Councilperson for the City of Tennille, Richard “Keith” Lindsey, resigned from office last week.

Lindsey’s resignation was announced during a called Tennille City Council meeting held on Thursday, April 8.

Lindsey, who was not present at the called meeting, submitted a letter of resignation to the Tennille Mayor and Council dated Wednesday, April 7.

The letter of resignation notes that his [Lindsey’s] resignation was effective immediately.

“The growth of my business no longer affords me the time necessary to effectively serve the citizens of Tennille,” wrote Lindsey in his letter addressed to Tennille Mayor Eartha Cummings.

Lindsey went on to say that he continues to believe the City of Tennille has a bright future.

“I will enjoy watching her prosper under your leadership,” wrote Lindsey in his resignation letter.

Lindsey’s resignation was accepted by Tennille Mayor and City Council during the April 8 called meeting.

R. Keith Lindsey was first elected to the Tennille City Council to represent District 2, Post 2 in November of 2018 to fill the unexpired term of John Sweat who had resigned earlier that year. Lindsey was the only person to qualify for that seat in the November 2018 special election.
