
Mr. B. C. Reeves passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Reverend Daniel Reeves officiating.
Deacon B.C. Reeves was born to the late Mr. I.V. Reeves, Sr. and the late Mrs. Tex Ann Reeves on March 1, 1936. In 1969, B.C. was married to the late Ms. Edith Brown, and to this union, one child was born, Mr. Larry Reeves, Sr. During his younger years, Deacon Reeves worked for Carr and Boatwright. He later joined the team at Thiele Kaolin Company. B.C. was described as a dependable and dedicated worker. He retired with twenty-seven years of service in 1996. Deacon Reeves was a faithful and devoted member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Deacon’s Ministries, Advisor to the Usher Board, Treasurer for the Financial Ministry, Superintendent of Sunday School, and was always eager to volunteer for any project
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Genie Smith Hodges; and a brother, Mr. Thomas Reeves.
Deacon Reeves leaves to cherish his memories, one child, Mr. Larry (Cynthia) Reeves, Sr., Sandersville; six sisters, Ms. Mildred Farmer, Ms. Susie Mae Arthur, Sandersville, Mrs. Helen (Melvin) Hicks, Buford, Ms. Marie Mountain, Augusta, Ms. Carolyn Stokes, Locust Grove, and Mrs. Lois (Louis) Brown, Braselton; five brothers, Mr. Marion (Sharon) Reeves, Chesterfield, Virginia,
Mr. David Reeves, Sandersville, Reverend Daniel (Barbara) Reeves, Fort Washington, Maryland, Mr. Louis Reeves, Hampton, Virginia, and Mr. I.V. (Mary) Reeves, Jr., Puyallup, Washington; four grandchildren, Mr. Safara Reeves, Mr. Larry (Shandrea) Reeves, Jr., Mr. Maurice (Angela) Hodges, and Ms. Shakiah Hodges; seven great-grandchildren; devoted cousin, Mr. George L. Womble, Jr.; devoted friends, Mrs. Helen Barlow, Elder George Tucker, Deacon Wilbert Credle, the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Deacon Board; and a host of other relatives and friends.
