Scotty Wayne Bailey, age 51, of Milledgeville passed away on Wednesday August 11, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 19 at 2:00 P.M. at the Freedom Church in Milledgeville. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Bailey, Heath Claxton, Brandon Lindsey, Patrick Rainey, Chris Smith, Russell Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Coleman and Brad Kent.
Scott was born on March 15, 1970 in Sandersville to Jimmy Bailey of Wrightsville and Barbara Smith Bailey of Milledgeville. He was raised in Riddleville and was a 1988 graduate of the Washington County High School. Scott was employed by Thiele Kaolin Company for 33 years. His passion was his music, and he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed vacationing, hunting, fishing, and playing his drums in the Freedom Church Praise Team. Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eulie and Gertrude Bailey of Wrightsville and Donald and Dorothy Smith of Riddleville.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Tanya Bloodworth Bailey; their two sons, Sawyer and Braxton; his parents, Jimmy Bailey of Wrightsville and Barbara Bailey of Milledgeville; his brother, Robert Bailey of New York City, New York; his sister, Diane Bailey Waddell and husband Brett of Sparta; and a host of nieces and nephews.
