A motor vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend claimed one, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
According to the preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol, a Trooper from Georgia State Patrol Post 33 of Milledgeville was requested to investigate the fatal motor vehicle accident on Saturday, October 16 at approximately 5:42 p.m.
The report indicated that this was a single vehicle crash that occurred on Georgia Highway 24 near Holton Road.
The Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary report notes that a white Mazda pickup truck was traveling east on Georgia Highway 24. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 43-year-old Stacy Childers of Tennille, traveled onto the north shoulder of the roadway before striking a tree with the driver’s side door area of the Mazda pickup truck.
After striking the tree, the Mazda pickup truck flipped multiple times.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the motor vehicle crash. Childers sustained fatal injuries from the crash.
