One Home Struck in Drive-by Shooting in Tennille

One home was struck by gunfire in a Wednesday, March 2 drive-by shooting in Tennille.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, the drive-by shooting occurred on Easy Street in Tennille late Wednesday evening.

Five shell casings were recovered from this shooting, two of which struck a home on Easy Street.

“The home was occupied at the time of the shooting,” said Sheriff Cochran, adding that fortunately no person was injured from the gunfire.

This is the second drive-by shooting incident that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been called to investigate within the last week.

As previously reported by WACO 100, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators responded to Ivey Drive on Friday, February 25 in reference to a drive-by shooting. In that particular case, one individual was struck by the gunfire; two homes and several vehicles were also damaged.

“We believe these shootings are connected,” said Sheriff Cochran.

Sheriff Cochran stated that the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating these shootings and encouraged the public to work closely with law enforcement concerning the investigation.
