One Wanted in Connection with Weekend Shooting

One individual is wanted in connection with a weekend shooting on Matthews Road outside of Tennille that sent one to a trauma center, according to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran.

In a Monday, March 28 update, Washington County Sheriff Cochran reported that Cedtavious Montrell Harris, 21, of Sandersville is wanted for aggravated assault, reckless conduct, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

“He is believed to be armed and dangerous,” said Sheriff Cochran.

Sheriff Cochran stated that Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 700-block of Matthews Road outside of Tennille early Sunday morning, March 27, after receiving reports of an overnight shooting.

“One person was injured by the gunfire following a gathering,” said Sheriff Cochran, adding that the individual was airlifted to a trauma center to receive treatment.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested to assist with this investigation.
