Anne Watkins Bivings, age 96, of Sandersville peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, April 23, 2022. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sandersville United Methodist Church with Reverend Stan Littleton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Heritage Hall.
Anne was a native of Bartow, the daughter of the late Rose Salter Watkins and the late Charles Spier Watkins. She was a graduate of the Bartow High School, who then attended the University of Georgia, where she met and later married her husband, Earl Allen “Biv” Bivings of Donaldsonville. Following graduation, Mrs. Bivings became a schoolteacher before being employed by the Department of Family and Children Services, from where she retired in 1985. Anne was a faithful member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church and her Tuesday Bridge Club. She loved to host family and friends, especially her Annual Christmas Party. Mrs. Bivings was preceded in death by her husband, “Biv” Bivings.
She is survived by her daughters, Bunny Bivings and Bess Boyd; grandchildren, B. Allen Boyd and Stephanie R. Boyd; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Bivings, Boyd Bruins, and Jadalyn B. Bruins.
The family suggests that donations be made to Sandersville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 611, Sandersville, Georgia 31082 or the charity of the donor’s choosing.
The family is at the residence of Bess Boyd at 314 North Harris Street in Sandersville.
