
Mrs. Elizabeth Shurling Prince, age 93, of Sandersville passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 2:00 P.M. in the Sisters Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Andy Carter will officiate. Mrs. Prince’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at Sisters Baptist Church.
Mrs. Prince was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Hudson Little Shurling and the late Annie Mary Ivey Shurling. She married her husband of 72 years, Clyde H. Prince, in 1946 and began life as an excellent homemaker raising her family. Elizabeth was an active member of the Sisters Baptist Church, formerly serving as Preschool Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, and Church Librarian. Mrs. Prince enjoyed to cook and cater food. She was a brilliant artist, avid reader, excellent seamstress, and fantastic gardener. Elizabeth possessed a great love for children and relished any time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Prince is preceded in death by her siblings, Steve Walter Shurling and Lena Mae Vinson.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl Prince Lynn and husband Ronald of Metter, Jimmy Prince and wife Twanda of Sandersville, Dawn Prince Johnson and husband Earl of Tennille, Claire Prince Redfern and husband Tommy of Warthen, and John Mark Prince and wife Debra of Gibson; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maggie Shurling and Faye Mathis; and brother-in-law, Van Prince and wife Gayle.
