Ann Pittman, affectionately known as “Miss Ann”, was born in Warren County on September 23, 1932, and reared in Sparta, the daughter of the late Willie Lee Norris and the late Omie N. Norris. She was a standout player on the Sparta High School Girls Basketball Team and enjoyed sharing stories of her time on the court and growing up in Sparta with her grandchildren. Ann was the wife of the late Sol Pittman. The two made home in Sandersville where they raised their children. Ann was a talented decorator of cakes, owning and operating Pittman Bakery with her husband for many years. Mrs. Pittman was also employed at the Playhouse Nursery. She could often be found eating lunch at the Country Buffett fellowshipping with friends. Ann enjoyed hearing Washington County Golden Hawks and Brentwood War Eagles football games on the radio, intently listening for familiar names. Mrs. Pittman was a member of the 20th Century Club and her beloved Sandersville United Methodist Church. Ann is preceded in death by her son, Allen Pittman; son-in-law, Jerry May; sister, Mary Tucker; and brothers, James Norris and Allen Norris.

The family suggests that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Ann.
