Mr. James Edward Clark, age 84, of Tennille peacefully passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Augusta following a brief illness. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 21 at 11:00 A.M. in the Culverton Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Caroline Clark, Carter Clark, Jacey Clark, McGinnis Clark, Robert Clark, Tyson Clark, and Katie Moncus.

Mr. Clark was born as one of nice children on February 28, 1938, to the late Warren Clark and the late Enda Clark of Sparta. He was well-regarded as a hardworking man. Ed enjoyed working in his garden to share his crops with others, making batches of his “no recipe famous biscuits,” coon hunting, dancing at the VFW, and cheering the World Series Champion Atlanta Braves and National Champion Georgia Bulldogs to victory. Mr. Clark was a founding member of the Sparta Deer Camp and acquired many awards through his hunting prowess. He was employed by the City of Sandersville for over thirty years and maintained activity in retirement by working a busy lawncare schedule. Ed was known as a caring and generous man, who cherished adventures and memories made with family and friends. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his siblings; Benny Clark, Kay Clark, Barbara Goldman, Willie Clark, and Ruthie Sheley.

Survivors include his sons, Andy Clark, Jamie Clark and wife Jill, and Chad Clark; stepdaughter, Kimberly Story; grandchildren, Katie Moncus and husband Brad, McGinnis Clark and significant other Hayleigh, Tyson Clark, Jacey Clark, Caroline Clark, Robert Clark, Carter Clark; great-grandchildren, Milledge Moncus, Bo Moncus, and Ham Moncus; siblings, Jerry Clark, Joanne Harned and husband Ben, and Lillie Mae Capehart; several nieces and nephews; and devoted caregiver Lorraine Williams.

The family is receiving friends in the home of Jamie & Jill Clark at 1195 Mt. Gilead Road in Tennille.
