Dotty Ivey Morgan, age 68, of Macon, peacefully passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18 at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home with interment in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morgan was born on June 8, 1954, in Sandersville to the late Tommy Alson Ivey and the late Mildred Lindsey Ivey. From a young age, she loved staying active in her church and working with children. Dotty served as Church Youth Director, taught the Children’s Sunday School Class, and was heavily involved with Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and most recently attended the Mikado Baptist Church. She worked as an Accounting Clerk for over 20 years at Wesleyan College. Dotty enjoyed cross stitching, scrapbooking, and making cards. Mrs. Morgan was regarded as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Dotty was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Carolyn Amerson; and brother-in-law, Billy Amerson.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Jeffery Lee Morgan; sons, Scott Thomas Morgan and wife Dharma and Brandon Lee Morgan and wife Natalie; grandchildren, Daniel Morgan, Dominic Morgan, and Gabe Morgan; and siblings, Martha Hendricks and husband Bobby, Henry Ivey and wife Cathy, and Dolly Arrowood and husband Rick.
