Mrs. Jessie Mae West, age 85, of Sandersville passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 31st at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Fred Morrison will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. West was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Willie Gibson and the late Essie Sweat Gibson. She was raised on her family’s farm while working in their cotton fields. Jessie was later employed by the Washington Manufacturing Company and the Jack Smith Swine Farm. Mrs. West was known as an excellent sewer of quilts. She enjoyed fishing and listening to classic country music. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton West, and son, Ronald E. Osborne, Sr.
Survivors include her children, Clint Osborne and wife Linda of Harrison, Glenn Osborne and wife Sharon of Tennille, and Peggy Rentz and husband Steve of Louisville; grandchildren, Josh Osborne, Melinda Osborne, Shelby Osborne, Felisha Osborne, Terry Oquinn, Jessica Burgamy and husband Eric, Kimberly Withrow and husband Blake, Megan Smith, Lisa Osborne, Kelli Osborne, Lacey Osborne, and Ronald “Bubba” Osborne, Jr.; and 37 great-grandchildren.
