
Mr. Mack Alan Boatright, Sr., age 74, of Channell Road in Tennille passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in an Augusta Hospital. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11:00 A.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Pallbearers will be Derek Boatright, Joey Brantley, Bill Butler, Jr., Colby Butler, Will Durden, and Darrell Lanier. The family will greet friends on Thursday, May 4th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the May & Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Boatright was born and reared in Tennille, the son of the late Ted Maynard Boatright and the late Hilda Scarbrough Boatright. He was a graduate of the Washington County High School. Mack was mechanically inclined, skilled at automotive assembling. Mr. Boatright worked as a John Deere Tractor Mechanic for over 38 years with Ouzts Tractor Company and Dixon-Meeks Tractor Company. He was later employed as a Mechanic for the Washington County Road Department. Mack enjoyed traveling, camping, and educating others about the importance of the LVAD medical heart pump. Mr. Boatright was preceded in death by his siblings, Ted Maynard Boatright, Jr. and Linda Boatright Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith Boatright of Tennille; sons, Jason Boatright and wife Rachel of Tennille, Mack Alan Boatright, Jr. and his wife Iris of Tennille, and Christopher Boatright of Tennille; grandchildren, Hannah Garner and husband Landon, Will Durden, Alyssa Boatright, Ryan Boatright, and Ethan Boatright; sister-in-law, Ellen Boatright; and brother-in-law, Bill Butler, Sr.
