Mr. Henry Milton Williams, Jr., age 93, of Sandersville peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Dalton, Georgia. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church of Tennille with burial in the Church Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Brantley, George Fulghum, Emmitt Hall, and William Young. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Church.

Mr. Williams was born in Macon, the son of the late Henry Milton Williams, Sr. and the late Margaret Carter Williams. He began his working career at the age of 19 with Central of Georgia Railway and Southern Railway being promoted a total of 12 times, each requiring his family to relocate. With each move, Milton would make his first priorities locating a new church home, joining the Church Choir, and then finding a golf course. In 1971, Mr. Williams made his final move to Sandersville, tasked with helping to create B-H Transfer Company. He retired in 1996,but returned to work to oversee the development and building of the company home office and main terminal in Sandersville and continued work as needed until he re-retired from work in 2015 to care for his wife. Milton was a faithful member of the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, serving as Church Song Leader and a Church Deacon. Mr. Williams possessed a passion for music that he ensured was passed to his sons. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Yarley Williams.

Survivors include his sons, Henry Milton “Hank” Williams III and wife Nancy of Destin, Florida and Mark Boyd Williams and wife Holly of Dalton; grandchildren, Mark B. Williams, Jr. and wife Katelyn, Kathryn Williams Ryan and husband Jordan, and Christopher M. Williams and husband Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Aliza Williams and Avory Williams.
