Mr. Nathan Smith departed this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville, Georgia Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Samuel Grove Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia with Rev. Eric T. Adams, Pastor officiating Interment was in New Gardners Church Of God In Christ Cemetery, Oconee, Georgia.
He was born September 2, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mr. Herbert Smith and the late Mrs. Vennie Lee Smith.
Early in life, Nathan joined Gardeners COGIC and enjoyed singing and praising the Lord. Nathan attended D.D. Crawford Elementary and graduated from Washington County High School in 1972. He was employed by food Lion for many years.
Nathan resided in Oak Hill, Florida from 2004-2012 where he met and married Ms. Margaret Ward. While living in Oak Hill, he was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Herbert McGraw.
After moving back to Georgia, Nathan became a member of Samuel Grove Baptist Church and attended Oconee Community Center in Sandersville. Nathan enjoyed riding from place to place. He had the opportunity to visit many states including California, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories, a wife: Mrs. Margaret Smith; two sisters: Mrs. Helen (Harrison) Williams, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Joyce (James) Smith, East Orange, New Jersey; one brother: Mr. Willie (Margaret) Smith, Castleberry, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
