Mrs. Lavo H. Todd, of Augusta, age 93, entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Lee Lacey will officiate.

Mrs. Todd was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Brooks Hawkins in Washington County. Mrs. Todd was especially gifted in sewing and started her career working in a sewing factory. Over time, she was able to open and successfully operate her own clothing businesses for over 40 years, Todd’s Incorporated in Warrenton and The Fashion Gallery in Sandersville. She loved her customers, and most enjoyed helping women choose the perfect dress for their special occasion, from prom dresses to wedding gowns. She was known for being able to meet someone and know exactly what color and style of clothing would look best on them.

Mrs. Todd grew up as a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church. During her many years as a resident of Warren County, she was an active member of the Friendship Baptist Church. After moving to Sandersville, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. Her faith and church families were incredibly important to her.

Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her loving husband and business partner of 65 years, Mr. William Brooks Todd, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Philip G. Weigle, as well as 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Todd is survived by her daughter Joyce T. Weigle of Augusta; granddaughter, Patrice W. Johnson and her husband, Aaron, of Augusta; and their two sons, Brooks and Lucas. Additional survivors include her siblings, Edna Hinton of Thomson, Nora Mae Anderson and husband David of Tennille, Ray Hawkins and wife Celia of Thomson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Todd’s family would especially like to thank the staff and residents of Augusta Gardens Senior Living and Memory Care. She enjoyed making this her home for the past two years.
