Mrs. Virginia Davis Brooks, 95, of Davisboro, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29th at 11:00 A.M. in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Reverend Larry Glover and Reverend Paul Harris will officiate.

Mrs. Brooks, affectionately known as “Nannie” by her grandchildren, was born in Washington County, the daughter of the late Louis Davis and the late Annie Lou Watkins Davis Brown. She was a dedicated wife to the late Lorick V. Brooks and mother to her three children, Brenda (David) Sims of Valdosta, Byron (Sally) Brooks of Bartow, and Lorick (Beth) Brooks of Evans; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She loved her hometown of Davisboro and was a lifelong member of Davisboro Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Ladies Missionary Society, and as a member of the church choir. She was an avid gardener and ceramic artist, loved quilting and crocheting, and was known as a fabulous cook.

For the last twenty years, Virginia resided in the Augusta area, living in North Augusta and later in Evans. She attended the First Baptist Church of North Augusta where she was an active member of the Senior Choir and Missions Group.

The family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the loving care that she received from the staff at Norwood Nursing Facility in Evans for the past six years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Virginia Brooks to the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, Georgia 30809 or to the Davisboro Baptist Church, P. O. Box 70, Davisboro, Georgia 31018.
