Lt. Tony Roberson Retires from Sandersville Police Department

Sandersville Mayor and City Council recognized Lt. Tony Roberson of the Sandersville Police Department for his contributions to the community during their Monday, October 4 City Council meeting.

Lt. Roberson recently announced his retirement from the Sandersville Police Department, after serving the City of Sandersville and its citizens for more than 19 years.

Lt. Roberson began his law enforcement career in the City of Sandersville on January 7, 2002; his last day with the Sandersville Police Department was September 28, 2021.

During the most recent Sandersville City Council meeting, Sandersville Police Chief Victor Cuyler presented Lt. Roberson with a plaque to commemorate his [Lt. Roberson’s] service to the community.

Sandersville Mayor Jimmy Andrews commended Lt. Roberson for his dedication to the people of Sandersville.

“He’s been a good and faithful employee,” said Mayor Andrews. “He always had the public in mind.”

Mayor Andrews continued by saying that Lt. Roberson was always kind and easy to deal with when responding to the needs of the public.

“And that means a lot,” said Mayor Andrews. “He has been such a good officer.”

Councilperson Mayme Dennis agreed with Mayor Andrews’ comments, saying that Lt. Roberson has a servant’s heart.

Councilperson Danny Brown remarked that he was sorry to see Lt. Roberson retire, but wished him a relaxing retirement.
