Davisboro Chooses Mckevis Cail as New Police Chief

Mckevis Cail was recently sworn-in as the new Police Chief for the City of Davisboro during a ceremony held on Saturday, February 26.

Chief Cail explained that his goals for the Davisboro Police Department include having a police force that’s active in the community, advancing and upgrading the department’s technology and equipment, and creating a stable police department for the citizens of Davisboro.

“We want the citizens in the community to know we’re here doing our job,” said Chief Cail following the swearing-in ceremony.

Prior to being named Davisboro Police Chief, Mckevis Cail worked at several law enforcement agencies. He served as Sergeant with the Wadley Police Department, Sergeant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and was appointed Chief of the Bartow Police Department.

Chief Cail is a 2010 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College; he is one year shy of earning his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

In addition to serving in law enforcement, Chief Cail also owned and operated several businesses.

When discussing his role as Chief of Police for the City of Davisboro, Chief Cail explained that he hopes to help build relationships between law enforcement and the community.

“I pride myself on creating a police environment that is held accountable, is professional, and is respectful,” said Chief Cail.

Chief Mckevis Cail currently resides in Columbia County; he shares a home with his wife of 10 years and their three children.
