Mrs. Jeanette Lindsey Harrell, age 92, of Davisboro peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Thursday, October 27th, 2022. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, October 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the New Hope United Methodist Church with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Ron Dixon and Reverend Quillian Mercer will officiate. Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons and great-grandsons-in-law. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 29th from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harrell was born and reared in Davisboro, the daughter of the late Bennie Frank Lindsey and the late Carrie Smith Lindsey. Jeanette was a graduate of the Davisboro High School. She spent her working career at the Davisboro Peach Farm and the Davisboro Telephone Exchange. Jeannette would marry Quillian R. Harrell and treasurer the following years together working on their family farm. Mrs. Harrell was an active member of the New Hope United Methodist Church and a great contributor to the United Methodist Women organization. She was a known as a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed toiling in her garden, and found her greatest joys in cooking for her family at her home. In addition to her husband, Jeanette is preceded in death by her grandson Eddie Frost; and son-in-law, Steve A. May.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda H. Krygier and husband Bob of North Augusta, South Carolina, Brenda H. May of Sandersville, Judy H. Mercer and husband Sandy of Sandersville, and Ellen H. McDowell and husband Mike of Louisville; grandchildren, Mark Frost and wife Melissa of Mitchell, Robbie May and wife Angela of Statesboro, Julie M. Brannen and husband Wyley of Statesboro, Reverend Quillian Mercer and wife Rachel of Macon, Cynthia M. Peterson and husband Roy of Macon, Chad McDowell and wife Brooke of Louisville, Amber Howell Martinez and husband Travis, Rebecca Hardy and husband Adam of Evans, and Erin Norton and husband Corey of Louisville; 20 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family is located at the Harrell residence on Harrison-Davisboro Road in Davisboro.
