Mr. Brock McNeely, age 77, of Davisboro, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Davisboro United Methodist Church with burial in Davisboro City Cemetery.   Reverend Ron Dixon and Reverend Darell Young will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Daren Yorker, Jay Brown, Walker Lewis, John Mason, T.J. Farthing, Jimmy Godfrey, Michael Dean Smith and Steve Black.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Davisboro Volunteer Fire Department, Employees of Ginn Mineral and Gene Broxton and Scott Garrison.

Mr. McNeely was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Kenneth R. McNeely Sr. and the late Willie Jernigan McNeely.  Mr. McNeely formerly worked for J.P. Stephens prior to working in the Kaolin Industry as a laboratory technician retiring from Imerys.  In retirement, he worked for Ginn Mineral.  Mr. McNeely was very active in the City of Davisboro formerly serving as a City Councilman and also a volunteer firefighter for 50 years, currently as assistant chief.   He was a member of Davisboro United Methodist Church and loved to fish.  Mr. McNeely is predeceased by his first wife, Laverne Kniphfer McNeely and siblings, Kenneth R. McNeely Jr., Earl McNeely and Lois M. Glover.

Survivors are his wife Beryl W. McNeely of Davisboro; daughter, Gloria M. Evans and her husband DeWayne of Sandersville; grandchildren, Matthew Evans, Wesley Evans and Dawson Evans; and siblings, Jane M. Woodard and her husband Sam of Davisboro and Lynn M. Shurling of Sandersville.

The family will be at the McNeely residence on McNeely Street in Davisboro and they will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
