
Mr. Ernest Perry Smith, age 56, of Harrison died on Friday October 18, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday October 22 at Davisboro Baptist Church in Davisboro with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Godfrey, Andrew Purvis, Charles Blue, Quentin Blue, Michael Rentz, Colby Purvis, Jordan Osborne, Jamie Osborne and Bubba Osborne.
Mr. Smith was born in Laurens County, the son of the late Ernest Harry Smith and the late Nellie Ruth Smith. He was a retired Bridge Maintenance Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Smith had served in the Georgia National Guard. He was a member of the Davisboro Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his three daughters, Jessica Smith Burgamy and her husband Eric of Tennille, Kimberly Smith Withrow and her husband Blake of Harrison, and Megan Smith of Sandersville; six grandchildren, Kayla Burgamy, Bailey Burgamy, Blake Withrow II, Raelyn Smith, Ashlyn Smith and Nickolas Burgamy, two sisters, Carol Blue and her husband Charles of Wrightsville and Linda Denton of Mitchell; two brothers, Steve Rentz and his wife Peggy of Louisville and Tommy Smith and his wife Tammy of Indiana; and special friends, Curtis and Teresa Blount.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
