Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Whitaker Thomas, age 83, of Waycross, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2019, in Waycross. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23 in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Mr. Glenn Whitaker will officiate.
Mrs. Thomas was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Sam Whitaker and the late Mamie Louise Wilcher Whitaker. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty L. Jefferies and S. D. Whitaker. She was a graduate of Tennille High School. She was a clerk with the CSX Railroad for forty-two years, retiring in 1997. She attended Trinity Methodist Church and was the secretary of the Berean Sunday school class.
Survivors are her son, Calvin W. Thomas of Waycross; three sisters, Gloria Whitaker Waller of Sandersville, Nell Whitaker Giles and her husband Charles of Deepstep and Patty Whitaker Lindsey and her husband Dean of Tennille; brother, Glenn Whitaker and his wife Sue of Stockbridge; and several nieces and nephews.
