On Friday, March 15, 2019 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend peacefully entered into eternal rest at Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Mack Jackson officiating. Interment was held in Powell Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Nolene Harris Duggan was born May 1, 1936 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Bobbie Lee Harris, Sr. and the late Mrs. Buerena Simmons Harris.

At an early age she joined Powell Grove Baptist Church, Devereux, Georgia. She attended faithfully until her health began to fail.

Nolene was a 1956 graduate of T.J. Elder High School where she was a basketball standout with her team winning many championships.

She was married to the late Mr. Tommie Lee Duggan, a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. As the wife of a Naval Officer, she resided in Alameda, California; Norfolk, Virginia; Key West, Florida and returned to Sandersville, Georgia as a permanent resident.

Nolene was a loving and quiet individual with a  ready smile and willing hands. God and family were her focus.

She retired  from Smith Medical Nursing Care Center after twenty six years of service.

Mrs. Duggan leaves cherished memories to her children: Ms. Teresa Roberson, Lithonia, Georgia; Mrs. LaVerne (Melvin) Johnson, Ms. Stephanie Burden, Sandersville, Georgia; Mr. Mark (Lashun) Duggan, Lithonia, Georgia; six grandchildren: Mr. Antonio Duggan, whom she reared, Mr. Justin Burden, Mr. Juwan Burden, Mr. Joshua Burden, Ms. A’Lesia Johnson, Mr. Jandan Duggan; seven great grandchildren: Rodriquez Burden, Jada Jordan, Tykeia Warthen, Kendall Jackson, Raquel Gunter, Ezekiel Gunter, Jayce Burden; three sisters: Mrs. Katie Smith Poole, Sandersville, Georgia; Mrs. Jacqueline (Robert) Mitchell, Jacksonville, Florida; Ms. Barbara Harris, Lithonia, Georgia; five brothers: Mr. Bobbie Lee (Annie) Harris, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia; Mr. Thomas (Lou) Harris, Sr., Savannah, Georgia; Mr. Johnnie (Virginia) Houston, Elizabeth City, North Carolina; Mr. Joe (Catherine) Houston, Atlanta, Georgia; Mr. James Crowder, Houston, Texas; a host of other relatives and friends.
