WILLIE HURST

Mr. Willie Hurst, Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Navient Health Center in Macon, Georgia. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Union Hill Baptist Church,  2389 Deepcut Road, Tennille, Georgia at 11 a.m. for the immediate family.  Rev. Jeremiah Wooten will officiate.

Mr. Willie Hurst Sr. was born April 8, 1950 in Sandersville Georgia to the late Marion Hurst Sr. and Lee Alice Hurst. Willie was the 5th oldest out of 7 children. Willie attended D.D Crawford Middle School and T. J. Elder High School in Sandersville Georgia where he was in the graduating class of 1969. After graduating he became employed at the Central State Hospital as a Health Service Technician for 20 years. Later on in life Willie married his High School sweetheart Marqueritte Stubbs and to this union a set of twins, a daughter Latorya Hurst and son Willie Hurst Jr., were born.

Willie loved his family and wanted everyone to be happy, he enjoyed and was big on having family gathering,  he loved to eat and was the life of the party and always had a story to tell. His past time was traveling his favorite places to go were Florida and Detroit Michigan which was his favorite;  he loved visiting his oldest brother Marion Hurst Jr. (lil Son),  his sister-in-law and nieces; they had plenty of fun together during his visit.

Willie attended Dixon Grove Church of God in Christ.  He loved helping out doing whatever needed to be done.  His help, hard work and good deeds led him to become ordained on March 1, 2020 as Deacon Willie Hurst, and boy did that make him proud. The Joy of Willie’s life was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He often spoke fondly of them all and enjoyed their quality time together. He loved them all dearly and they loved him to life.

Willie was married to Carol Justice from ( 2007-2009) and they enjoyed a life together and maintained a close friendship until his departure.

Willie entered into eternal rest May 18, 2020 and this broke our hearts.  Proceeding him in death is his father: Marion Hurst Sr.,  mother Lee Alice Hurst, sister Winnie Bell and niece Bertha Bell.

Willie leaves to cherish his legacy children: Latorya Hurst Stanley of Milledgeville GA and Willie L. Hurst of Sandersville GA; grandchildren: Alexis Taylor, Shyria Everett, Marqualin Hurst, Jarell Stanley, Lyric Stanley, Kaylee Hurst and Amiya Tarver; great grandchildren: Ma’loine  Everett and Za’Mari Taylor. Siblings: Brothers Marion Hurst Jr. (Irma) of Detroit MI, Eula Hurst ( Annie ) of Sandersville, GA; Sisters:  Claudia Dixon (Tom) of Sandersville, GA,  Brenda Hurst of Atlanta, GA, and Mary Hill ( Joe ) of Haddock GA, a lifelong friends: Carolyn Darrisaw, Joe B. Hill and Harold Whipple and a host of very special nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Public visitation will be held at the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home on Monday, May 25, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. The family is receiving friends at 101 Waits Road, Milledgeville, Georgia.
