City of Tennille Announces Smoke Testing of Sewer Infrastructure

tennille

On Thursday, May 28, the City of Tennille announced upcoming smoke testing on the city’s sewer infrastructure.

The testing will be conducted on Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 2.

Smoke testing is a process that consists of blowing smoke that is mixed with large volumes of air into the sanitary sewer line. This is usually induced through the manholes. The smoke travels the sewer line of least resistance and quickly reveals at sites that allow surface water inflow.

The smoke will clear on its own and will not harm the environment.
