Both squads will begin their journeys on the road. Washington County will face off with the Burke County Bears in Waynesboro, while Brentwood travels to Milledgeville for an annual competition with rival John Milledge. Each game is scheduled for a 7:30 P.M. start time.

Radio station WACO 100 is the longtime “Home of the Hawks,” and is excited to once again carry the coverage of each and every exciting play of the upcoming season. All games are to be broadcast over 99.9 FM and waco100fm.com.

WACO 100’s sister station Family 1490 is the brand new “Home of the Eagles.” The thrilling season to follow of Brentwood football is now brought to you on 1490 AM and waco100fm.com.

Taylor Everett returns to the broadcast booth for a second consecutive year and will now be joined by former Golden Hawk and Mercer University standout Will Coneway. Pregame coverage begins on Friday nights at 7:00 P.M.

Jerry Knight and Jason Lindsey will team together as the new crew for Brentwood football. Pregame coverage of the War Eagles begins each Friday at 7:00 P.M., as well.

Radio stations WACO 100 and Family 1490 are also eager to introduce an exhilarating and advanced avenue to enjoy local football in 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and current game attendance regulations, a “Game of the Week” will be aired via video broadcast every Friday night on waco100fm.com.

For a $10 fee, individuals can purchase a video stream of the available Washington County or Brentwood game to watch on their smart phone, tablet, laptop, or smart television. A portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to the school being broadcast. Stay tuned to the social medias of WACO 100, Washington County Public Schools, and Brentwood School for information on games being aired via internet television.

All audio and video streams of games will be archived to waco100fm.com for on-demand enjoyment following the live contest. Live and archived audio streams remain free of charge.

The Washington County Golden Hawks are led into action this season by Head Coach Joel Ingram, who is serving at the helm of the hawks for a 15th consecutive year, passing Rick Tomberlin as the longest tenured head coach in Golden Hawks history.

WACO finished the 2019 season with back-to-back games versus the two teams that competed in the GHSA AA State Championship Game. The Golden Hawks upset the eventual state champion Dublin Fighting Irish in their regular season finale before falling to the eventual state runner-up Brooks County Trojans in state playoff competition.

The Brentwood War Eagles are directed into the new season by Head Coach Bert Brown. He will serve in his 21st straight year in that capacity and extend his record as the longest tenured Brentwood head coach.

Brentwood returns to action in 2020 fresh off the heels of a 2019 GISA AA Region 4 Championship, which was their first since 2006. The War Eagles were able to extend a state playoff run into the GISA AA Semifinals Round before losing to the eventual state champion Gatewood Gators.
