ROBERT SWINT

On the morning of Monday, November 30, 2020 the angels came and closed the eyes of Mr. Robert Swint of Sandersville, Georgia at Heritage Inn Nursing Home, Sandersville, Georgia. He was born March 7, 1943 in Warthen, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Moses and Mrs. Ruthie Mae Swint.

He attended T. J. Elder High School, Sandersville, Georgia and graduate in 1963. Years later he entered the United States Army serving from 1965 until 1967. Returning from the military he moved to New Haven, CT., where he resided for several years. While there he worked and retired from The Marlin Firearm Company, CT., later relocating back to Sandersville, GA

His passion for tinkering with cars led him to opening his own shop as an auto mechanic. Being a mechanic led him to the Department of Transportation in Tennille, GA where he eventually retired. He also had a fondness of motorcycles in his early years. At an early age he joined the Swint Spring Baptist Church where he was very active on the Deacon Board until his health declined.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mr. Robert Earl Swint; wife, Mrs. Jean P. Swint and twelve (12) siblings

Left to carry on Mr. Swint legacy:  two daughters:   Mrs. Lawanda (Gregory) Sanders, Hamden, CT,, Ms. Crystal Swint, Sandersville, GA; one son: SSGT Ostranda J. Swint (Teliah), Douglasville, Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Ethelene Wilson, New Haven, CT., Ms. Virginia Swint James, Hephzibah, GA; one brother: Mr. Sammie (Edie) Swint, Hamden, CT; five grandchildren:  Tyron M. Hammond, Keith H. Young, Jr., Jordan Swint,, Aaliyah G. Swint, Amaya E. Swint; one1 great-grandchild;  Keith H. Young;  devoted niece:  Mrs. Pendry (Roy) Braswell; devoted nephew:  Mr. Ray (Jerry) Pierce; special friend, Ms. Cynthia Dixon; devoted companion, Ms. Elizabeth Robinson;  several other relatives and friends.
