No Appointment Needed for COVID-19 Vaccines at Local Health Department

Washington County Health Department, part of the North Central Health District, is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment.

Vaccinations without appointments will take place at the Washington County Health Department, located at 201 Morningside Drive in Sandersville, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

The vaccines are free of charge.

The Washington County Health Department offers Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Any appointments for second doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine already scheduled at these sites will remain booked. Individuals with existing appointments should arrive for their second dose at the scheduled location, date and time.

Community Health Care Systems is offering the Moderna vaccine to all adults 18 years of age and older.

The upcoming vaccine schedule for the month of May for Community Health Care Systems in Washington County include: Wednesday, May 26 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at their office located at 116 Smith Street in Tennille. This is for second doses only.

The state operated mass vaccination site opened in Washington County on Wednesday, March 17. The mass vaccination site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Word of Life Church, located at 1214 South Harris Street in Sandersville; this site offers the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine to drive-up customers. The state operated mass vaccination sites are scheduled to close on Friday, May 21.
