Mrs. Diana Warthen of Sandersville passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Augusta. Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Reverend Rose Mackey officiating.
Diana “Mama Duke” Warthen was born on Wednesday, February 19, 1986, the fourth of five children to Mrs. Ollie Mae Warthen and the late Mr. Jethroe “WoWo” Warthen, Jr. She was a 2006 graduate of the Washington County High School. Mrs. Warthen’s most rewarding moments were becoming a loving mother of her beloved son, Yirmeyah, and her beloved daughter, Trinah. God blessed Diana with Mr. Ben Wheeler later in her life. She and Ben planned to stand before God and unite their love on Thursday, November 11, 2021. This date, along with her melodious voice and many memories, will be cherished by her children, fiancé, mother, siblings, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Warthen was preceded in death by the father of her children, Mr. Leo “Skeet” Watts, Sr. and her father, Mr. Jethroe “WoWo” Warthen, Jr.
Ms. Warthen leaves cherished memories to her son, Master Yirmeyah Watts, Sandersville; daughter, Miss Trinah Watts, Sandersville; fiancé, Mr. Ben Wheeler, Sandersville; mother, Mrs. Ollie Mae Warthen, Sandersville; brothers, Mr. Jeff (Griselle) Warthen, Cochran and Mr. Julius (Angelica) Warthen, Victorville, California; sisters, Ms. Doris Louise Warthen, Sandersville and Mrs. Mary (Nigel) Guy, Cairo; nephews, Jarius Marquis Clayton-Warthen, Alfredo Silva, James Augustus Copithorne, Hizqiyah Warthen, Yosiyah Warthen, Zion Warthen, Marcos Warthen, Niyan Marik Guy, and Nehemiah Warthen; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
