Mr. Tommie L. Richardson passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at a local hospital. Graveside funeral services were held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Georgia Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Oscar Hall officiating.

Mr. Richardson was born on January 11, 1954 in Jefferson County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Sammie Lee Richardson and the late Mrs. Marie Anderson Richardson. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined the Jones Chapel CME Church in Bartow. Tommie married the late Mrs. Betty Tukes Richardson on September 13, 1974. They were blessed with forty-six (46) years of marriage. Mr. Richardson was a hardworking and loving man. He always enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. Tommie would always help anyone in need, especially his children and grandchildren, serving as their “one call, that’s all.” Mr. Richardson was known for operating heavy equipment, receiving his CB Handle, “Scrap Iron,” through his work with them. Throughout his working career, Tommie worked with C.T. Harris, W.F. Jackson Construction, Arcilla Mines, and Howard Sheppard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Sammie Lee Richardson, Jr.; sister, Ms. Marie Curry; grandchildren, Ms. Shan’Tekia Kitchens, Master Travarris Tukes, Jr., Ms. Jhanasia Tukes, and Ms. Kaylii Monroe.

Mr. Richardson leaves cherished memories to his children, Mr. Steven (Kimberly) Richardson, Tennille, Ms. Charlene Tukes, Sandersville, Mrs. Kather (Dale) Roberson, Waynesboro, and Mr. Travarris (Brandy) Tukes, Grovetown; grandchildren who he reared as his cildren, Mr. Stetson Richardson, Mr. Jakori Richardson, Mr. Stanques Tukes, Mr. Antwan Tukes, Ms. Qunetta Tukes, and Ms. Vakeshia Tukes; sisters, Ms. Lula Mae Brown and Ms. Janie Williams; brothers, Mr. Leroy (Lois) Richardson and Mr. William (Jeanette) Richardson; grandchildren, Ms. Shan’zekia Kitchens, Ms. Shundrekia Tukes, Ms. Brennell Tukes, Mr. Derrick James, Ms. Dealeatrice Tukes, Ms. Kebrana Warthen, Ms. Alexis Tukes, and Ms. Te’Asia Tukes; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Susan (Casey) Rogers, Mrs. Katherlene (Sanford) Braddy, and Mrs. Ollie Tukes (Amos Williams); brother-in-law, Mr. Earnest “Bo” Tukes; devoted “brother-in-love,” Mr. Dennis Harper; devoted nephew, Mr. Eugene Curry; devoted friends, Ms. Sjcokia Johnson, Mrs. Karen Harper, Ms. Vivian Grant, Mr. Sylvester Hooks, Mr. Greg Cooper, Sr., and Mr. Jim Brown, Sr.; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
