She formerly served as a nurse in the United States Army while stationed in Maryland. While in the Army, she met her soon-to-be-husband of 50 years, Donald Norris. Cathy would begin a long career as a Registered Nurse in Washington and surrounding counties, working at hospitals, nursing homes, and in home health. She touched many lives through her work as a nurse and even furthered the education of the craft by teaching nursing at Oconee Fall Line Technical College. Cathy and Donald were blessed with three children and six grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and referred to as, “the best grandmother in the world,” according to her grandchildren. Mrs. Norris was described as brave, kind, loving, and in possession a beautiful soul. Cathy was known as a “selfless people person,” who loved to hug and say her “mommy prayers” to help keep her family safe. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and hummingbirds. Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer W. Pirrmann Jr. and her sister, Peggy Virginia Pirrmann Pedersen.

Cathy is survived by her husband, William “Donald” Norris of Davisboro; children, Sean Patrick Norris and his wife Brandi of Warner Robins, Alisa Joy Norris Scott and her husband Zachary of Davisboro, and Tiffany Carin Norris Cooper and her husband Kyle of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brayden Patrick Norris, Adelyn Laine Norris, Harlan Bo Scott, Dallas Adam Scott, Scarlett Rhea Cooper, and Lesley Grace Cooper; brother, Christopher Robert Pirrmann (Diane) of Davisboro; sister, Pamela Louise Pirrmann Martini of Sandersville; and “fur-friend,” Nibbles.
