L.M. Pierce Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Gus Purvey of Tennille on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00 P.M. in the Smith Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Willie Brown officiating. Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel. The body will also lie in state at the Smith Grove Baptist Church from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Sunday. There will be no viewing following the eulogy.
The family may be contacted at 13022 Georgia Highway 68 South in Tennille. They will receive friends following the funeral service at The Family Retreat Center in Tennille.
Centers for Disease Control guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, including the wearing of face masks and the practicing of social distancing will be required.
