Dr. John R. Clements, age 70, of Laurel Drive in Sandersville peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 following an extended illness. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dr. Clements was born and reared in Douglas, Georgia, the son of the late John Rufus Clements Sr. and the late Bessie Daniel Clements. Following high school, he attended Augusta University and graduated with a degree in Biology. John was then accepted into Dental School at the Medical College of Georgia where he would graduate in 1978. That same year, Dr. Clements opened his dental practice in Sandersville and faithfully served the people of Washington County until his retirement in 2010. While in practice, he was a member of the Georgia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by a sister, Glenda C. Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Sheri Smith Clements; sons, Michael Aaron Clements of Dublin and Matthew Charles Clements of Sandersville; stepdaughters, Courtney B. Tollison and her husband Will of Sandersville and Kirby B. Holmes and her husband Lance of Dublin; seven grandchildren; sister, Patricia C. Noblett of Macon; and brother-in-law, Tony Gray of Gray.
