Mrs. Lillie Ree Kemp entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Middle Hill Baptist Church. Bishop Otis L. Kemp will officiate. Interment will be held in the Middle Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Kemp was born on January 22, 1931, to the late Mr. John Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Anna Mae Thomas. Lillie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who always lent a helping hand in caring for children from a young age until her later years. She was the Mother of the Middle Hill Baptist Church from December 1, 2019 until her passing. Mrs. Kemp was known in the church for her dedications in the amen corner and for always being well-dressed with her stylish hats. Lillie enjoyed gospel music, especially when Mr. Shawn Thomas played his instruments at the church. She was preceded in death by her soul mate, Mr. Lee Arthur Kemp, Sr.; four brothers, Mr. J.W. Thomas, Mr. John Thomas Jr., Mr. George Thomas, and Mr. Jessie Lee Thomas; and her grandson, Mr. Delvecckio S. Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Ms. Linda Thomas, Warthen, Ms Verian Kemp, Sandersville, and Mrs. Patricia Denise (Norman A., III) Hill, Waldorf, Maryland; four sons, Mr. Lee Arthur Jr. (Johnnie Mae) Kemp, Douglasville, Mr. Marvin (Barbara Ann) Kemp, Warthen, Mr. Gerald Anthony (LaTonia Yvonne) Kemp, Newnan, and Mr. Dexter Pernell (Dorothy Jean) Kemp, Sandersville; four sisters, Ms. Millerene Thomas, Sandersville, Mrs. Elizabeth (David) Sanders, Sandersville, Ms. Vassie Hatcher, Sandersville, and Ms. Annie Julie Johnson, Tennille; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
